I have been looking for a very long time for a good mascara.
I started the process by doing what I usually do when I need to make a change, I looked carefully at all the women I spoke to and eventually asked the one with the most beautiful lashes what kind of mascara she uses. Cover Girl Professional, so I tried that and even the waterproof leaves me with smudges under my eyes after a few hours.
So then I started buying and I bought the tried and true, everybody swears by it, Maybelline in the pink and green tube and it smudges.
Then a few others, in flashy lime green tubes, orange tubes, sleek black tubes. I still look like a racoon by lunch time.
Once upon a time, Margie found this little gem for our makeup bags, but I've run out and haven't found them since.
I've talked to lots of women and the consensus seems to be Clinique Mascara. Even those who don't use it talked fondly of having had a sample and loving it.
So my friends, help me out ... what kind of mascara should I try next? And while we're at it, what kind of eye makeup remover do you use?
Oh and at this point, I think I'm not afraid to move towards investing more money in a tube of mascara because I've spent a lot of money trying ones that don't work.
You guys are the best! xo

Hi, visiting via the black box.
Try Clarins double fix mascara. It's clear and it seals any brand to keep it fresh and smudgeproof all day.
Hpoe that helps x

little Black box brought me here...I use Neutrogena Healthy Volume w/olive oil from wally-world.
I use the Black/brown and It doesn't smudge. Also I use oil of olay on a baby wipe to get it off.
Have a great day!

Please take this from a makeup artist and mascara junkie: YSL Faux Cils in the gold tube, and runner up is Hypnose by Lancome. I use the Rimmel eyemakeup remover and think it does a good job. I'm not a fan of those oily 2-layer types. Blech.
And no waterproof! It's really hard on your lashes and eyelashes take 2-3 months to grow back, so you don't want to encourage them falling out before they're ready.
Best technique for applying mascara is to blot the wand first on a tissue because you always get too much product on the wand and that's why it gets so clumpy. Also, biggest mistake people make is keeping mascara for too long. As soon as you open the tube and air starts getting in, it changes the formulation (that's why new mascara is always a joy). Toss a mascara after 3 months, tops. I usually get one about every 6 weeks.
See! I told you is was a junkie. Good luck! Oh, and a common cause of smearing is too much eye cream or moisturizer around the eyes, which can re-wet the mascara and make it smear.
Okay, end of lecture.

Those are beautiful lashes! I love Tango baby and will try her suggestions BUT I searched for a mascara for all my adult life and 3 years ago I fell in love with Diorshow mascara. It is the only mascara that has ever given me and umph to my straight lashes. It is love in on a wand.
