Barry works at the Shaw Festival, theatre. We don't get to spend a lot of time together in the summer months. We have weird hours. I work nine to five. He doesn't. I would love to be able to have a cup of coffee or tea with him in the morning.
It has gotten to the point after five years where I don't ask about the schedule, I just hope that eventually we will have an evening together. Tonight I was granted one of those rare evenings, we sat in our back yard.
And we drank some wine and we talked.
We talked about dreams. Barry asked me, out of the blue, apparently, "So, when are you going to start thinking about you as a Photographer, with a Capital "P"?????
And I said, "gulp."
That's it. Gulp.
Yep, Gulp. That's all I could come up with.
And I have to say this, is there anything better in this life, than having your soul partner ask you a question that shines the answer on you? Yes, there is something better.
When you say, "Yes, right now."
so, gulp, gulp, GULP,
YES
Right now, I declare myself, a Photographer.
while we were talking I noticed this shadow.
when I took the inevitable break,
I turned from the hall way into the washroom and I saw this
If I am not a photographer yet, I might be, and if I'm not, I shall try,
and if I am not already a Photographer at least I am seeing things I never saw before.

Indeed you are a photographer! It's always hard to say it, "I'm a ...." But, once you accepted it and said it, didn't it feel good? Congrats on your acceptance! Sweet soul mate and great photos! love the tea set...

i walked in a museum the other day and was given a pass. It read photographer. I took the pass hesitantly and put the string around my neck. i pulled it off as fast as i could when i was done shooting. then before i went to bed i ran my fingers across it and smiled as i read it again before falling asleep.
You are a photographer my friend. I mean we are photographers. Hee.

oh i love your heart! i completely relate to your delight in hearing someone whom you trust and who loves you best in the world shining the light of truth upon you...and you trusting their vision of you. Isn't love grand!?

go to the falls, take your tripod, set the shutter speed at no faster than 1/30 second, (go at sundown when it isn't too sunny or bright for that slow shutter) hold your breath, set your timer or use a remote and then click and share with us your daring spirit :)
