i hope our meredyth sees this post. she has a fondness for ladybugs.
andy and i were on our way to montreal and stopped to walk charley.
i came out of the restaurant and andy yelled "get your camera".
"see that rust over there on the bottom of those concrete towers?
they are ladybugs"
whoa.
seriously. not cute.
ladybugs are only cute one at a time.
i was itchy the whole rest of the drive. lol.
you know the rhyme ladybug ladybug fly away home.
this is more like the old woman in the shoe
who had so many children
she didn't know what to do.
on the way home we pulled over for a tranquil photo.
and yes kath, we hit schwartz's for smoked meat, how can you not?
xo margie

ooh smoked meats. yummy.

Ummmm, I believe those are Asian ladybeetles, not ladybugs. In the fall, they gather together trying to find somewhere to hibernate........houses and barns around here are just covered!!! And I'm sorry, the US implanted these creatures to help with the aphid problem, they are just moving out of the country with everything else! LOL!

ewwwww... but... do you know the song Ladybug Picnic? 123...456...789...
"One two three
Four five six
Seven eight nine
Ten eleven twelve
Ladybugs
Came to the ladybugs' picnic
One two three
Four five six
Seven eight nine
Ten eleven twelve
And they all played games
At the ladybugs' picnic
They had twelve sacks so they ran sack races
And they fell on their backs and they fell on their faces
The ladybugs 12
At the ladybugs' picnic
They played jump rope but the rope it broke
So they just sat around telling knock-knock jokes
The ladybugs 12
At the ladybugs' picnic
One two three
Four five six
Seven eight nine
Ten eleven twelve
And they chatted away
At the ladybugs' picnic
They talked about the high price of furniture and rugs
And fire insurance for ladybugs
The ladybugs 12
At the ladybugs' picnic
12!"
an old sesame street counting song with a great melody too! The Elizabeth Mitchell version is completely adorable.

So cool! We used to have ladybug swarms in our dorm rooms. Yes, our rooms. You know, with our beds in it? See, we'd crack our windows and there weren't any screens, and well, one day you'd come back from class and see hundreds of ladybugs around the windows and on the radiators and on the ceiling. Not so cool when you're trying to sleep, but very pretty to look at otherwise.

I'm with Katie, I think it's pretty cool. Looks like moving rust and I love rust. Your sunset photo is top notch, too.
