Arts & Crafts ...

I've been knitting a lot, since September, I've been on a kick.   It makes me happy, I feel good when I do it and I'm making some really nice things. But as any knitter knows, the problem with knitting is the stash.  Oh yes, the stash.  The faster I knit the bigger it grows (and this picture only shows what is out on the table right now for my present projects!).

 

I've been working in my art journal.   I wasn't sure when I started if it would be something I liked, I had a sketch book, some glue and some pens.   Turns out, I find it very satisfying, but of course, now I need supplies!  And I'm learning about techniques and products and pens that feel good in your hand and create that perfect stroke, leaving a mark on the page just as I imagined.

 

I don't need to tell you that these supplies don't come cheap.  But I discovered that when I buy something at Michael's, there is often a coupon with my receipt for 50% off one item the next day.   

What do you think happens?  I go back, day after day after day, dutifully using my coupons to fuel my habits.

I need an intervention, I'm addicted to the coupons that Michael's Arts & Crack store hands out.  They started me off small, $2.00 off this ball of wool, $3.00 off these rubber stamps, $15.00 off these pens.   I'm hooked!  Help me!

Since I long ago stopped calling my guest room the Guest Room and started calling it my Scrap Room (for scrapbooking), I am the last one to point fingers. In fact, if you have a JoAnn's Craft store near you, they have coupons online and much cheaper prices! Except...I usually run across the street and spend my savings at Michaels with my other coupon. We're hopeless! :)

Michael's is certainly addictive. I thought I would avoid it today, but then there was a special glue I just had to have and off I went.

Uhem... michael's is not a good place for me this week. I spent way too much in there... And such beauty comes from there. See I'm already feeling the love, in my heart for Michael's.
