nothing quite beats the sunny face of a sunflower.
i took this photo last summer,
my kitchen window at the lake.
standing tall and straight in three little vases.
the light is soft and dreamy.
ah, the sunlight.
today those flowers would look like this.
like an old vintage photo, the colour drained away over time.
i went to the doctor, i am low on vitamin d.
we laughed, let's line up all the canadians and test them!
there is no light here. none.
when light is interrupted you have a shadow.
when there is no light, there is gray.
i am going to costa rica. in four days.
where the sun is shining.
after all, i am suffering from a lack of vitamin d.
and tonight.....

Those flower pics are gorgeous! Costa Rica sounds like the perfect way to cure a Vitamin D deficiency! Can't wait to see the pics!

I love those pictures! You have a great time in the sun! I need light, too--and we're not as dark as you are. The other thing that I find helps is just getting outside for 30 minutes or so...even if I walk when it is dark. Of course, I'd much prefer the trip to Costa Rica! Pictures please! Safe travels!

Happy New Year to you both! Have a fabulous time in Costa Rica. Soak in all that sunshine. Raise your vitamin D levels. Get a nice brown tan. Drink lots o' girlie drinks while you're there, too!

we oregonians have a similar situation. lack of sun, lack of vitamin D. you enjoy those 4 days and soak it in, the warmth and the goodness of light! love to you both. i am leaving for the airport in moments but wanted to wish you a delightful new year. i am looking forward to adventures and friendship!

I adore the deconstructed photo of the sunflower vases. I would like to borrow that technique some time.
Costa Rica is fantastic! I hope you see lots of wildlife and take many many photos. I wonder if your trip is tax deductible as a medical expense :)
