we've taken a bit of a break to celebrate passover.

What not to wear: Vineyard Edition

The guest workers arrived back in Niagara a few weeks ago.   They work in the many greenhouses, orchards and vineyards.  Yesterday I opened my front curtain and chuckled at my very own live version of what not to wear.   (We won't mention that I was my very own live version wearing mismatched pyjamas, my husband's socks, standy-up hair and my old glasses.)

March Madness

 

I know little about basketball and March Madness.  It took me a minute to figure this colourful gang out last weekend, ah yes, Syracuse Basketball fans.

It was weird today, I have looked at the blog a couple of times and it didn't register that there was no post from Margie. I bet she and Andy have found themselves in that flurry of unpacking, where the heck is anything, we have too much stuff state of being which has left her with no time for blogging. Even moving into a brand new home brings many trips to the hardware, grocery and liquor store.  

I am going to venture out for a short walk, a stomach flu took me out of the game this week and today I finally feel like I can handle a bit of gentle exercise. Eating a bland diet for the past three days has left me with the strangest craving for caesar salad.  I wonder if I dare? I'll walk up to the grocery and see how being in the presence of actual lettuce makes me feel. 

Take care of yourself, stay away from sick people, I wish I had.

Showered with Gifts

 

I went to a bridal shower last night, there was a small pile of gifts when I arrived, by the time the bride was ready to open her gifts, you could hardly see her in the chair they were piled so high around her.  Now don't get me wrong, I love this girl, I don't begrudge her a thing, but it occurred to me that the people who NEED to be showered with gifts are the people* who have all those things but are tired of using those stained tea towels, melted oven mitts and toasters that burn the toast!  Wouldn't it be fun to start over with bright shiny new stuff?

Macro Monday - Diners Drive-ins & Dives The Guy Fieri edition

 

In our house when we think of something we want to or need to do we say, "Put it on the List". It could be anything from taking the garbage out to winning millions of dollars. Like all lists some things get done, some don't. This weekend we decided to strike something fun off the list: "Eat at a restaurant featured on Diners Drive-ins & Dives". Guy Fieri's show on the Food Network is one of our favourites. We shuffled off to Buffalo to eat breakfast at the Lake Effect Diner. I ordered corn beef hash, eggs, rye toast, fresh squeezed oj and coffee. Delicious!

After breakfast we did a little shopping, Target and the Outlet Mall.  Weak from all that shopping we were starting to feel a bit hungry and said "why not?". We headed over to Pizza Junction for dinner because on Friday night we had seen the episode featuring the stuffed banana pepper.

 and pulled pork pizza.

And of course, dessert, red velvet cake.

{urp}  OH, excuse me!!!  I think two restaurants were probably a bit ambitious for one day ;-)
